Time-Served Joiners for Glasgow's East End, Lanarkshire & Beyond

Careful, made-to-measure joinery for tenements, terraces and new-build homes.

Brackenbrae Joinery is a small team of time-served joiners working out of a workshop in Dennistoun. We fit kitchens, build bespoke furniture and carry out everyday joinery for homeowners, landlords and letting agents from the East End of Glasgow out to Stepps, Uddingston, Bothwell and Cumbernauld.

Glasgow's housing stock keeps us on our toes. Sandstone tenements rarely have a straight wall or a level floor, so we scribe, shim and measure twice before anything is cut. In newer homes we work just as neatly, fitting doors, skirting and flooring that line up properly and stay that way.

Every project starts with a visit to measure up and talk through what you want. You'll get a written quote that sets out the materials, the labour and how long the work will take, and the same joiner who quoted the job will usually be the one who does it.

Got a project in mind? Get in touch to arrange a time for us to measure up.

OUR JOINERY SERVICES

From a single sticking door to a full kitchen refit, every job is measured, built and finished with the same care.

KITCHEN FITTING

Whether you've bought a flat-pack kitchen or ordered from a showroom, we'll fit it properly. That means levelling every base unit, scribing worktops to uneven walls, cutting in sinks and hobs, and fitting the plinths, panels and cornice that make the finished kitchen look built in.

Carpenter installing made-to-measure fitted wardrobes

FITTED WARDROBES & ALCOVE UNITS

Awkward alcoves, sloping ceilings and deep tenement recesses are perfect spaces for made-to-measure storage. We design and build fitted wardrobes, alcove cupboards, bookcases and floating shelves, then paint them to match your room.

Joiner hanging an oak internal door with new skirting and flooring

DOORS, SKIRTING & FLOORING

New internal doors hung so they close cleanly, fire doors fitted to the correct standard, and skirting, facings and laminate or engineered wood flooring laid to finish a room off. Ideal for renovations, rental refurbishments and new extensions.

Carpenter building timber decking in a back garden

DECKING, GARDEN ROOMS & FENCING

Make more of your outdoor space with treated timber or composite decking, steps and balustrades, fencing and gates. We also build insulated timber garden rooms for a home office, gym or studio, with the foundations, framing and cladding done in-house.

Joinery Questions We're Often Asked

Helpful answers before you book a joiner

Traditionally, a joiner makes things in the workshop, such as doors, windows, stairs and furniture, while a carpenter fits timber on site. In Scotland the word "joiner" usually covers both, and our team does both. We build fitted furniture in our workshop and handle everything from kitchens to decking on site.

Most standard kitchens take between three and seven working days of joinery, depending on the number of units, the type of worktop and how much the walls need to be scribed. Plumbing, electrics and tiling are separate trades, and we're happy to coordinate with your installers so the work runs in the right order.

All the time. We're used to carrying materials up common closes, working around high ceilings and ornate cornicing, and fitting furniture into walls that are far from square. If parking is tight, we'll plan deliveries so the close and the street are kept clear.

Most everyday joinery, such as fitting a kitchen, wardrobes or new internal doors, doesn't need a building warrant. Structural work, such as removing a wall or building a larger garden room, may need a warrant or planning permission from your local council. We'll flag this at the quote stage so you can check before any work starts.

We can do either. For bespoke furniture and outdoor builds, we source the timber and boards from trusted local merchants and include them in the quote. If you've already bought a kitchen, doors or flooring, we'll simply fit what you've chosen.

We're based in Dennistoun and cover the East End of Glasgow, including Shettleston, Baillieston and Carmyle, plus Stepps, Cumbernauld, Coatbridge, Airdrie, Uddingston, Bothwell, Hamilton and Motherwell. For larger projects, we're happy to travel further.
